Liner Notes Excerpts :

Slow Down (Written 2001, ©2006 James Adams-Compton)
It often happens when I work on a studio project that I get "new" songs! This "very short" song came to me as we were finishing up "Only One Way". No room for it then - so it took 5 years to finally record it. It has a simple point - one I needed to hear during album "pressure times" – "Slow Down", & let Christ take control!

More Than Anything (Written 2001, ©2006 James Adams-Compton)
By 2000, the band 4’n’1 had existed for 3 years. We had done some concert ministry, but it did not seem as if the Lord had released us yet into His plans for us. Then in November, we heard about the vision that Ann Tompkins had. She was the wife of a local pastor who believed God showed her to begin a unity move in the churches centered around worship. In faith, she booked the Ithaca AOG for the 1st Saturday in December, and started planning. But she didn’t have a worship band to lead it! So, when we heard about it, we prayed, and then offered our services. Thus the Lord opened the door for 4’n’1 to   minister at the first "Saturday Night Praise Alive Gatherings", which is now entering it’s 7th year of existence! A great run!

The song "More Than Anything" is a live recording from the September 8th, 2001 "PAG". 3 days later, the Twin Towers fell, and the world entered a dark time. But Praise Alive has thrived, helping to bring unity to the body of Christ and spawning a move of God’s Spirit in worship all over our area. "The voice of melody will be heard within this city!"
(word given by Marji Stevens, 12-11-1994, Agape). Glory to His Name!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The God Whose Name Is Love (Written 2003, ©2006 James Adams-Compton)
It was 2 years later, at the end of our Sept `03 Praise Alive, I introduced a new song - a powerful moment caught live on tape by Ernie Zimmerman & Nate Bishop. The song is based on 1Cor 14, Apostle Paul’s "psalm of love". As it was birthed in me, I saw for an instant that God is love, personified. His life is a perfect reflection of pure Love. Our life is a journey that brings us to a face to face encounter with that God of love. For "He is faithful & He is kind & He never seeks His own, bearing & forgiving all the wrongs that we have done". God, and His Love, never fails. He is "The God whose Name Is Love". O, how I love Jesus!
